PROJECT OVERVIEW
A landmark private residential commission on Dubai's iconic Palm Jumeirah, spanning 820 square metres across eight distinct living spaces. The brief required an entirely bespoke carpet language that would unite the villa's diverse rooms — from the grand entrance hall and formal living areas to intimate bedrooms and a private spa — while honouring the client's vision of refined contemporary luxury rooted in Arabian design tradition.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design language draws from the fluid geometry of water and the rhythmic forms of palm fronds, translated through a contemporary lens that complements the villa's modern Arabian aesthetic. Soft ivory and warm champagne tones ground the palette, punctuated by deep teal and burnished gold accents that echo the Persian Gulf at sunset.
Each room received a distinct carpet identity — individually conceived yet visually coherent across the whole — creating a narrative journey through the villa that unfolds with each transition between spaces.
THE SOLUTION
We created 24 bespoke carpet designs from our Tufts and Knots collections, each tailored to the specific proportions, traffic requirements and light conditions of the spaces they inhabit. The entrance hall features a hand-knotted wool and silk medallion piece at 7 × 5 metres — one of the largest single-loom commissions our studio has undertaken for a private residence.
Bedroom areas utilise a softer, high-pile tufted construction in ivory and muted sage, chosen for their tactile comfort and visual calm. The spa received a custom flat-woven piece in undyed natural wool, anchoring the space in elemental simplicity.
