A landmark hospitality project spanning over 3,200 square metres of bespoke hand-knotted carpets across the hotel's public areas, suites and event spaces. The project required a cohesive design language that would unify diverse spaces while celebrating the unique character of each zone — from the grand lobby to intimate corridor stretches, private suites and the ballroom's ceremonial grandeur.
The design language was inspired by Arabian geometry and the flowing forms of desert sand dunes, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to complement the hotel's modern luxury interior. Each pattern was hand-drawn and refined in collaboration with the hotel's lead interior designer before being translated into woven form.
We created 14 unique carpet designs from our Knots Collection, each tailored to the specific ambience and traffic requirements of different zones within the property. Colour palettes were extracted from the local landscape — warm ochres, terracotta and deep blues drawn from the Arabian Gulf at dusk.
New Zealand wool and Chinese silk were blended with custom-dyed yarns in 47 exclusive shades to achieve the luminous depth the hotel's design brief demanded. Every piece was hand-knotted at 80 knots per square inch for ultimate durability and definition.
